Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer

Commercial & residential

What is Polished Concrete Veneer?

Concretis© Polished Concrete Veneer is a  terrazzo style polished concrete overlayment revolutionising flooring, making polished concrete as easy as laying tiles.

Unlike Polished Concrete slabs which need to be installed at 100mm depth Concretis© PCV Overlayment (terrazzo flooring) is able to be installed at 15mm with a finished depth of only 10-12mm.

Concretis© PCV (terrazzo flooring) is the perfect flooring solution, whether you are renovating or building new.

Why Concretis© PCV?

  • Due to the installation method there will be no footprints, water damage or screed marks noticeable in the floor, as may occur in traditional concrete placement.
  • Can be installed over top of most sound substrates such as concrete and stable tiles.
  • Adjoining to other/existing floor finishes can be achieved with no height variation.
  • No expansion joints or saw cuts are necessary (unless there are existing saw cuts or construction joints in the substrate, then these must be reflected through the Concretis PCV).
  • Gloss levels can be controlled depending on the finish you require from 200 – 1500 grit.
  • A standard colour range is available and we have the ability to design specific mixes for your project to give a unique finish.
  • Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer overlayment is a cost effective alternative to an insitu Terrazzo floor system.

FAQ’s

Concretis PCV is dimensionally stable and is not designed to expand or contract. However, it will crack if there is movement in the substrate that it is laid on. Cracks found in the substrate during the preparation stage are bandaged and epoxy primed to aid in preventing any further cracking.

If there is severe cracking in the substrate then we would recommend an anti-fracture membrane be installed between the substrate and the Concretis (at an additional cost). No warranty is expressed or implied for cracking of Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer due to substrate movement.

Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer is repairable, with little visible difference in the floor finish.

While Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer is incredibly stain resistant any spills should be cleaned up as soon as possible. Only ph neutral cleaners should be used. Any acidic or high alkaline products such as red wine, vinegar, lemon juice, sauces should be cleaned up immediately to avoid corroding the surface.

For a new build Concretis PCV is installed after gyprock and plastering is completed, and before skirtings, painting and any cabinetry is installed.

For a renovation all cabinetry, furniture, skirtings etc should be removed. One of our installation team will complete a site inspection prior to advise what needs to be removed.

Our installers use 3 phase grinding machinery with vacuums attached that capture 99% of any dust created from the grinding and polishing process, however some dust is inevitable.

Concretis PCV is designed as an internal floor finish. It is not a suitable product for paths, driveways or swimming pools due to slip factors. However, Concretis PCV can be installed in covered outdoor areas with a topical sealer and a slip reducing additive.

Mechanical Polished Finish: If your new floor is in the home long term maintenance is fairly minimal as long as you follow the Concretis cleaning guide. We recommend a clean, rebuff and reapplication of the penetrating sealer every 5 years. For a commercial environment we recommend this procedure every 1-2 years depending on foot traffic.

Topical Sealer: Reapplication of the surface coating is recommended for a commercial environment every 1-2 years depending on foot traffic and every 5 years for a residential application.

Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer is mixed and laid by hand so some very minor imperfections may be noticeable at a close up inspection. All due care is taken during the installation and grinding/polishing procedure to ensure any imperfections are picked up and eliminated, such as applying a grouting system during the grinding process to eliminate air holes.
